Autoresponder Services – Using Your Reports Can Grow Your Revenue

July 31st, 2009 · No Comments

Most professional level autoresponder services come with some level of reporting capability. The autoresponder reporting can be very basic and also be extremely detailed. Knowing which reports to review, how to interpret them, and how to react to the data they provide can be a real asset to your business and increase your revenue substantially. Let??s look at four of the most important reports that can make the biggest impact on your autoresponder??s value.

1. GEOGRAPHIC REPORTING – The nature of Internet marketing is most often worldwide. This brings challenges for marketers. Using the geographic reporting about where your subscribers live can help your marketing efforts. Most top-notch autoresponder services will provide breakdowns of your subscriber base by country, region, city, and some cover the area code/postal code level of detail.

If you have a majority of your subscribers in certain countries, the reporting can tell you that the language that you use, the terminology you use and spelling you use should be adjusted to match the preferences in each country.

Using stories local to your geography may not work if your subscriber base is mostly overseas. Coming up with 2-3 slightly different versions of your message and broadcasting them to the appropriate subsets of your list can improve your click through rate and ultimately your conversion dramatically.

2. VERIFICATION PERCENTAGE – Reporting from your autoresponder services will at a minimum report the percentage of your total list that has confirmed their opt-in (in a double opt-in scenario).

This is absolutely critical reporting. All marketers with a list know how hard it is to get subscribers, and they also know how so many of them don??t confirm their opt-in.

Marketers should make changes to the way you ask your subscribers to confirm their opt-in and then watch the resulting difference over time in your reporting. Taking time to do this will increase confirmations and put more money in your pocket as a result of the new subscribers you can now market to.

3. SUBSCRIBE METHOD – Many autoresponder services offer you a way to track your marketing campaigns. You attract subscribers on your website, by mailing other JV partner??s lists, from your Blog, from article marketing and so forth.

Reviewing the reporting that covers the method that your subscribers used to subscribe to your list can show you which marketing efforts have resulted in the most subscribers and which marketing efforts should be curtailed due to a lack of results.

4. SUBSCRIPTIONS OVER TIME – One of the most basic reports available from your autoresponder service shows you how many people joined your list by day, by week, and by month.

This report can show you if you have any seasonal trends in your subscribers. If you detect a trend, this will help you properly time your marketing efforts to coincide with the strongest periods when subscribers are most likely to be interested in joining your list.

This will increase the return on your marketing efforts and maximize the size of your list.

The reporting that your autoresponder service provides takes very little time to review and can increase your list size and as a result, increase your revenues. Taking the time to interpret the key reports and making the changes in your marketing accordingly will pay dividends for a long time.
